Manorá Branco (White Manorá)

1997

Marble sculpture filled with melted vaselin and marble lid. Once they fit together, petroleum jelly overflows. “Manorá” is the name of a neighbourhood in Asunción, in Paraguay, where the piece was initially exhibited. This word also means “place to die” in Tupi-Guarani.
